Along for the ride

Sometimes I forget about things only to be surprised by them later.
About a month ago, Audrey & Jonny invited me for a ride on the trolley.

I've seen it go by us several times when we play croquet,
but never had the chance to ride.

It was a pretty short ride, but Jonny was so excited.
He kept screaming "Whoo, whoo! Train!"

After the ride was over, the conductor asked if
Jonny would like to blow the whistle.
Audrey & Jonny climbed to the front of the train.

Whoo, whoo!

Jonny's turn!

I'm a bit sad that RTD tore up the trolley tracks for the light rail expansion.
Other than that, we had a blast!

Acrylic in progress

Mini canvas...

Cherry, Cupcake & Gummi

I don't have a name for this one yet.

Lovin' the feathers. Doesn't have a title yet either.

Any thoughts?

Another visit to Lake Rhoda

Whatcha lookin' at guys?

Who.. us??

Well that's Maura, Gina & Ant headed to the top of a tower.

Almost there!

Priceless!

Lakeside Amusement park was the destination for Micaela's birthday!

We thought we'd give Jonny another go at Kiddie Land.

But there was only one ride that Jonny was interested in.

This time I tried to capture as many of the cool old signs as I could.
Lakeside has such a unique history!
I think there used to be a roller skating rink inside Royal Grove.

That's Ant screaming his head off!

Next was the Satellite, where you can be your own pilot!

Classic Phillips sunset pose at Lake Rhoda.

Mic & Mike

Jonny waved at us and screamed "bye!" as we headed up into the air.

It took some guts to get on the carousel after my last experience with the mutant spider. I was pleasantly surprised that this trip did not include anything with eight legs crawling on my head.

Maura & Gina where ready!

Jake & Jonny on a blue bunny, with Audrey saddled up next door.

This ain't my first rodeo!

Did you say bumper cars?

Or bumper boats?

Jake will captain our ship as we set sail into a 3 foot lake of PURE nasty.

Mike & Finn

Caela

Erin & Zoe

Gina & Ant

My captain kept our boat a spinnin'.

I was REALLY ready to get off this ride!

Next we ventured over to the Matterhorn.

After the massive amount of spinning, I decided to call it good with the rides.

Some of the gang decided to ride the Scrambler.

Micaela

Ant & Gina

They also gave the Wild Chipmunk one last go.
This time I caught them all as they came flying through!

Here's Mike

Ant with crazy red eyes!

Maura

Micaela (NICE scream!)

Frankey

Even thought this was our third trip to Lakeside this summer...

...I still found new things to see & photograph.

Lakeside rocks!

Happy Birthday Caela!
