I would love, love, love to go to Costa Rica.

Its a relatively cheap place to travel. Like its name translates, its rich with life.

Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice

My friend Marika and I made a date for Friday. We where going to take a walk or go see a movie, but the weather was bad, and neither of us really wanted to see a movie.

"You know what I do when its cold out?" Marika said. 

"Whats that?" I replied. "Make cookies!"

She brought over her Pillsbury cookie book and we went to work deciding what to make.

We picked two recipes. A fresh orange cookie with frosting and a lemon tea cookie with filling.

Get a load of these babies!

Day 19 - A picture of when you were little.

Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity.

My biggest insecurity it that I dont have a great education. 

I finished high school and called it quits. At the time it felt like the right thing to do. I'm constantly worried that this could someday hold me back. While I feel like I'm a smart girl, there probably would have been more opportunities for my life had I just gone. It really sucks when someone you meet asks you what college you attended, and you have to answer, "I didn't", with a smile on your face.

I recently thought about trying to get in somewhere, but its not that easy to jump up and go to college as an adult while facing paying off your husband's college experience, ...so I doubt that I will ever go. Sad face.

Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently.

In November of 2010 I was given not so awesome news from my Doctor. I have a syndrome which causes insulin resistance. I'm not a type 1 or 2 diabetic, I'm more bordering type 2. Knowing the battle that people with diabetes go through I decided that I needed to change my future.

Cheryl suggested that we go to water aerobics. This is a photo of the swimming pool at Schietler Recreation Center, better known as Berkeley Park where I spend my Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Nothing but good has come from all of this. I found that I really enjoy the water, that the "regular" ladies are hilarious and awesome, and I've even lost some weight. I've decided to become a regular visitor to the pool because something about it feels like home.

Its driving Jake a little crazy, but I have been watching the "Cooking Channel" every chance I get. I have been recently inspired to cook. Go figure. So this picture is of Bobby Flay on the show "Brunch at Bobby's". I really want to try out his eggs benedict recipe. Any takers?

Jonny learned to call for Izzy. I think he might have a crush on her.

At first he said "woof" when he saw the kitties, but by the end of our visit he got it straightened out.

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die.

I want to do Johnny Depp, but that will most likely not happen.

Hmm... one thing I want to do before I die? Aha!!!

This was something my dad always wanted to do and I was right there with him. It would be kick ass to spend a vacation on a houseboat at one of our country's most finest lakes. I hear its pretty expensive, but a girl can always dream!

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

There are many people in my life I could never live without, because they have showed me what it is to truly live! They make up a delicate web of wonderful in which I am forever tangled. I respect and love each relationship I have. I hold it tender to my heart and find myself grateful on a daily basis.

This particular photo day is dedicated to my sister, Jen. I think what Jen brings to my life is grace. She in every way embodies this word. She is kind, generous, encouraging and loving. She brings calm and welcoming. She has inspired me! Through her I've discovered that I have a green thumb, that I'm a pretty decent baker, that fun is contagious, and that its ok to just be me. I hope she knows how lucky she makes us feel! Love you sister!!

Discovered in middle school, I have been a follower ever since. I nearly died from excitement the time they played on my birthday at Red Rocks, that was one of the best days of my life!  I rock them at least once a day on my ipod. Cant get enough!

Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most messed up things with.

Maura and I are usually always doing weird things together. This is a picture of the time we raked all the leaves from my front yard to my backyard and had a "Cousins All American Leaf Jumping" marathon.

As far as messed up things we've done... once we put on every article in Micaela's closet and sumo wrestled in her living room. Caela was pissed cause we stretched the boobie part out on her shirts. Oops!

Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.

Jake. He is my saving grace, my shoulder to cry on, my love. Together we have been between a rock and hard place, and come out just fine. We have gone through happiness and sorrow, luck and loss. I know he will always have my back as I will always have his.

Boyd. He has come to my rescue at least 300 times and never wanted any reward. He has been a true friend and often times my hero. He's listend to me cry over Jake and humored me on more that one occasion. Ask him what I do every time we go out for a sit down dinner. Single ladies, this is a good guy alert! We are lucky to have a BFFL like Boyd!

Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh.

I have 3 that whenever I see them, I start cracking up.

This is at the parade of lights a few years back. Triston looks like a warrior riding on a Mike-Monster. Check out how he's holding onto Mike's forehead. Facelift!

This is my nephew at one of his tee-ball games. He got mad at his dad, who is the coach of the team, because his dad asked him to bat and Josh didnt want to. He stormed off and I snapped this photo. He is so freakin' cute.

I dont know how we snapped this one at the right moment, but we did. Our cats tend to be a bit crazy sometimes. This picture makes Jake and I laugh every time we see it. Izzy's claws are out, and Wicket looks a little scared.

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item.

If my house burned to the ground, I would miss owning things, especially clothes. It would be a hard thing to accept that all of my photos would turn into memories of photos.

The truth is these 3 boys are my treasure.

Joshua is 7. He has incredible blue eyes and an enormous funny bone. Cyrus is 2 1/2. He is very smart and gives the best hugs. Jonathan is 14 months. He's got a laugh that is out of this world, and is going to talk my ear off one day. I truly believe that my 3 nephews will grow up to change the world we live in.

I promise to always let them know how much of a treasure they are & how lucky I am to get to keep it.

Special Guest

We have had a visitor for the last few days... the lovely Kat!!!

Her family was skiing in Vail for a few weeks and she got to spend time with us. How lucky are we?!? I took her to get feathers in her hair. I got a new bit myself! We had a full day of beauty.

Later that night we went to Billy's for margaritas. Kat tried the Jalapeno Margarita. Spicy!!

We where also joined by Stacey, Carly and Christina. What a bunch!

After dinner we went to Music Bar. Jake, Naomi, Chris, Krisha & Martin met us there. For some reason I didn't snap one photo!

All in all I had a blast spending time with Kat. It was really hard to let her leave this morning. Every time we see each other its like we never been apart.

I would love to trade places with Kylee Swenson of Loquat. I dont have a girl-crush per say, I more have a crush on her voice. If I could sing like that for just one day in my whole life, I think I might be complete!

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory.

Some of the funnest times in my life have been planning what to do in Maura's car for her birthday. We have successfully turned her old civic into a glitter bomb, a porno palace, a pirate ship, an easter rabbit, a gnome-dom (above) and a hearse. Lucky for us Maura loves it. I wish she still had that old car so we could continue our work!
